HELLO NEIGHBOUR!
Some of you already know me and we may have volunteered together over the last 38 years that we’ve been in this amazing neighbourhood,
As this part of Kitchener has seen so much growth, I wish to welcome our new community members and also tell you a bit more about me. I hope to meet you over the next few weeks and hear your concerns as I prepare to proudly seek to represent our issues at the upcoming municipal council.
Gary and I have two grown sons, Steven and Michael and we are proud grandparents. Although we moved 3 times, we have always stayed right here in this neighbourhood. It's where we call home!
My community involvement started on the neighbourhood association back in 1981.We worked hard to bring the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre and Library into existence in 1989. I am honoured to have serve as the president of the DPPCA back then, and continue my neighbourhood involvement for so many years organizing the annual Christmas Miracle Food Hamper project.
I look forward to reaching out and hearing from you. I encourage you to invite me to a neighbourhood gathering, speaker’s corner or any other format that brings us together to discuss and exchange. Community engagement is something that I would maintain throughout being your representative at city council.
I take the role of Councillor very seriously. Whether your issue is one that I understand, or one that I am personally passionate about (or not), I promise to listen and learn with you as we go along.
